Privacy Statement
Your personal data is important to us.
We aim to comply with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore and to respect your choices.
You agree and consent to us and our authorised service providers and third parties to collect, use and disclose and/ or retain your Personal Data in the manner set forth in the KarmaPoints Personal Data Protection Policy.
The Personal Data Protection Policy supplements but does not supersede nor replace any other consent which you may have previously provided to us nor does it affect any right that we may have at law in connection with the collection, use, disclosure and/ or retention of your Personal Data.
From time to time, we may update this Personal Data Protection Policy for various reasons, including to ensure that our Policy is consistent with developments and trends in any regulatory changes. Subject to your legal rights in Singapore, the prevailing terms of the Personal Data Protection Policy shall apply.
This Personal Data Protection Policy forms a part of the terms and conditions governing your relationship with us and should be read in conjunction with such terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”). In the event of any inconsistency between the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Policy and the Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

1.1. In this Personal Data Protection Policy, “Personal Data” refers to any data and/or information about you from which you can be identified by, either (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we may have legitimate access to. Examples of such Personal Data include but are not limited to:
1.1.1. your name, passport or other identification number, telephone number(s), mailing address, email address and any other information relating to you which you have provided in any forms you may have submitted to use, or in other forms of interaction with you;

1.1.5. information about your usage of and interaction with our website and/ or services including computer and connection information, device capability, bandwidth, statistics on page views and traffic to and from our website
2. Collection of your Personal Data
2.1. Generally, we may collect your Personal Data through the following ways:
2.1.1. when you sign up with us for product and services, including but not limited to vouchers and promotions offered by KarmaPoints or via the KarmaPoints web platform;
2.1.2. when you access our websites or perform an online/ phone donation transaction;
2.1.3. when you submit an application to us for membership services and benefits;
2.1.4. when you respond to our request for additional Personal Data;
2.1.5. when you ask to be included in an email or other mailing list;
2.1.6. when you interact with our employees and other representatives
2.1.7. when you request that we contact you;
2.1.8. when you participate in research and/or surveys conducted by us or our partners/vendors;
2.1.9. when you apply for employment or internship with KarmaPoints;
2.1.10. when you use third party services that give us your Personal Data;
2.1.11. when you respond to our initiatives or promotions or other communications; and
2.1.12. when you submit your Personal Data to us for any other reason;
2.2. When you browse our website, you generally do so anonymously, but please see section 6 below on cookies.
3. Purposes for the Collection, Use and Disclosure of Your Personal Data
3.1. Generally, we may collect, use, disclose and/ or retain your Personal Data for the purposes for which you have consented, and where applicable, for the following purposes:
3.1.1. to manage your involvement with KarmaPoints and/or other entities associated with KarmaPoints
3.1.2. to inform you about and provide you with benefits and services from KarmaPoints and/or other entities associated with KarmaPoints
3.1.3. to assist you with your enquiries;
3.1.4. to administer and service your needs effectively,
3.1.5. to process donation payments or any purchases and subscriptions;
3.1.6. to inform you of the changes and updates to our services, policies, terms and conditions and other administrative information;
3.1.7. to improve client services, such as resolving complaints and handling requests and enquiries;
3.1.8. to conduct research, surveys and interviews;
3.1.9. to keep you updated on our events; and
3.1.10. to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
3.2. All Personal Data submitted to us should be complete, accurate, true, and correct. Failure to do so may result in our inability to provide you with services you have requested and/or to process or administer the Personal Data.
3.3. Where Personal Data is submitted by you concerns another individual other than yourself, you represent and warrant to us that all the necessary consents (in accordance with all applicable data protection legislation, including without limitation the Personal Data Protection Act) have been obtained from the relevant individuals and that you have retained proof of these consents, such proof to be provided to us upon our request.
3.4. If you have provided us with your telephone number(s) and have consented to contact by telephone, we may contact you using the number(s) in relation to our products & services, irrespective of whether you are on any “do not contact” database for Individuals, or not.
3.5. You shall consult your parent or guardian before providing us with your Personal Data if you are under the age of eighteen.
4. Marketing/ Optional Purposes
4.1. From time to time, we may contact you via mail, electronic mail, telephone (call or SMS-Text) or social medial platforms, to inform you about our services and events that we think may be of interest to you.
4.2. You can let us know at any time if you no longer wish to receive marketing materials (by informing us via email at support@karmapoints.net) and we will remove your details from our direct marketing database.
4.3. Please note that we may still send you non-marketing messages such as surveys, customer-service notices and other service related notices.
5. Disclosure of your Personal Data
5.1. We may disclose your Personal Data to the following groups of external organisation for purposes mentioned above, subjected to the requirements of applicable laws:
5.1.1. Our employees and other representatives;
5.1.2. Our affiliated charities;
5.1.3. Our affiliated retailers, merchants and/ or service providers;
5.1.4. You, in the form of personal data you have previously supplied us;
5.1.5. Agents, vendors, contractors, data intermediaries or third party service providers who provide services, such as telecommunications, mailing, information technology, payment, payroll, data processing, training, market research, carding, storage and archival, to KarmaPoints;
5.1.6. external banks, financial institutions, credit card companies and their respective service providers;
5.1.7. our professional advisers such as our auditors;
5.1.8. relevant government regulators, statutory boards or authorities or law enforcement agencies to comply with any laws, rules, guidelines and regulations or schemes imposed by any government authority;
5.1.9. third party reward, loyalty, privileges and co-branded programme providers;
5.1.10. any other party to whom you authorize us to disclose your Personal Data to;
5.1.11. business partners that provides any membership services and benefits; and
5.1.12. any other person in connection with the purposes set forth above.
5.2. Your Personal Data may be transferred, stored and/or processed in a country or territory outside your country (where laws and regulations allow) and you consent to any such transfer, storage and/or processing of your Personal Data outside your country, where applicable. We will ensure that any party to whom we transfer your Personal Data outside your country provides such Personal Data a standard of protection at least comparable to the protection under the Act.
5.3. Neither KarmaPoints nor any of its officials shall be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you or any user as a result of any disclosure of any personal data which you have consented to KarmaPoints and/or any of its officials disclosing.
6. Use of Cookies
6.1. We may collect or analyse anonymised information from which individuals cannot be identified (“Aggregate Information”), such as number of users and their frequency of use, the number of page views (or page impressions) that occur on our websites and common entry and exit points into our websites.
6.2. We make use of “cookies” to store and track Aggregate Information about you when you enter our website(s). Such cookies are used to track information such as the number of users and their frequency of use, profiles of users and their online preferences.
6.3. Such aggregate Information collected may be used to assist us in analysing the usage of our website(s) so as to improve your online experience with us.

7.1. Our website may contain links to other websites operated by third parties independent of KarmaPoints. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such websites operated by third parties even though it is linked to our website(s).
7.2. We encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of such third party website(s) by checking the policy of each site you visit and contact its owner or operator if you have any concerns or questions.
8. Protection of your Personal Data
8.1. We maintain appropriate security safeguards and practices to protect your Personal Data unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification disposal or similar risks, in accordance with applicable laws.

9.1. We take all reasonable measures to ensure that your Personal Data remains accurate, complete and up-to-date.

10. Withdrawal of Consent

10.2. Please note that if you withdraw your consent to any or all use or disclosure of your Personal Data, depending on the nature of your request, we may no longer be in a position to continue to provide any benefits or services to you.

11.1. You may request access to or make corrections to your Personal Data records, but KarmaPoints has the right to charge a reasonable fee for processing your request.
